We renovated a premiere studio in the heart of Lucknow City. The brief was to design the studio with a wooden mountain lodge theme.
The control room was much longer than its width resulting in a lot of modal buildups. It lacked proper absorption and there were too many early reflections. Post acoustic measurement, we found a lot of bass region buildup.
The frequency-tuned SPro Custom Panels were used to control the bass buildup. Panels were tuned in two sets designed as per the modal distribution (70-110Hz) (110-350Hz). Broadband absorption was handled by the 6″, extended range SPro Deco Broadband Panels finished in beautiful Burmese Teak hardwood trims. A Giant (8′ x 6′) SPro Custom Folded Well QRD Diffuser was installed on the back wall to give a better sense of space and scatter frequencies from (500-8700 Hz). The custom-made furniture matched the overall theme and decor.
The iso booth was designed with an RT60 time of <0.15sec for clear vocals and additional acoustic treatment in the ceiling was introduced. The control room is now an NC30 space while the iso booth is NC25.
